I am a supermarket trolley. Tonight, I will make my escape.


I’ve tried it before, but my wheel locks at the car park exit.


Earlier, when I was canoodling with Geraldine, two shoppers wrenched us apart. She tugged Geraldine’s basket; he yanked my handles. I felt my electronic wheel go pop.


I’m free!


I trundle around town. As my confidence builds the faster I roll. Twisting and turning through streets and alleyways… and onto a grassy knoll. I freewheel downhill.


Whee!


I am a supermarket trolley lying at the bottom of a murky pond. Tonight, I will make my escape...
