Kaylee was hot, tired and distracted. She dragged her loaded trolley along the row of cabins and parked it outside No.3.

Inside, she prised open a corner tile and deposited a pack of cocaine.

As she was leaving for the day a black Chevy pulled in. Retired LAPD cop Gene Travers and his K9 checked in. The motel owner gave him the key to No.3.

Later, it occurred to Kaylee that this weeks drop was room 13, not 3. With a shrug she decided she would make the switch tomorrow, she was confident the occupant would be non-the-wiser.
